Eastern NC

Hurricane Florence devastated Eastern NC in September, 2018.  Thousands of residents still have not been able to return to their flood damaged homes.  By partnering with NC Baptist on Mission, we will come alongside residents in Duplin County to offer the love and hope of Jesus through this rebuild mission.

Lebanon

The Gospel opportunity is great in Lebanon right now.  The work of this team is to love children and adults in the name of Jesus through Basketball Camps, Testimonies, Gospel Presentations and in many other ways through our partnership with Chaouki and Maha Boulos.

We are a Missionary Church

God sent Jesus.  Jesus sent his disciples.  The Holy Spirit sends the church.  We are a sent people. We are a missionary church. Missions is more than something we do; it is who we are.  We long to serve our local community and the city of Raleigh, our state, our nation and our world. This missionary longing reflects the call of Jesus to his disciples: “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Community Missions

For too long, the church has been known for what it’s against. At New Hope, we want to be known for what we are for. We are for our community because God is for our community (Romans 8:31). New Hope is committed to being FORWake. This means using our gifts, abilities and resources to help people in Wake County connect with God where they are. We have partnerships with several local organizations which further enhance our ability to meet the needs in our community as we point people to God.

Opportunities to show the love of God are plentiful and the impact of these opportunities on our community never ceases to amaze us. Some examples of these opportunities have included homework help, kids summer meals, sorting donations, park clean-up, preparing freezer meals, prayer walks, block parties, visiting assisted living and homebound members and many others. Recognizing God has called us all, we strive to be sure that there are mission opportunities for all ages and capabilities allowing and empowering all to be FORWake.

Missions in NC, the US and the World

Each summer, our youth and college students eagerly roll up their sleeves to go and serve.  In June of 2019, a team traveled to Rose Hill, NC to partner with the Charity Rebuild Center, a ministry of North Carolina Baptist on Mission’s Hurricane Florence relief effort.  Participants worked at several sites, clearing debris from under houses, laying vapor barrier, and replacing floor joists.

North Carolina Baptist on Mission leaders project that the rebuild effort from Florence alone will take another 4 to 5 more years.  Our youth and college students are returning to Charity Rebuild Center in October to continue the relationship.
